Professor Geoffrey Wall Made an Academic Visit to the School of Management

    On the 28th of September, professor Geoffrey Wall from the University of Waterloo, Canada, invited by the Tourism Management Department in the School of Management, gave a lecture titled Creative Destruction in Chinese Water Towns. The lecture employed the creative destruction theory to discuss the influence of tourism on China’s water towns.
    In his lecture, professor Geoffrey Wall mainly anatomized the tourism development in Chinese water towns Jiaozhi and Zhujiajiao and made comparison between situations of before development and in development. He analyzed the benefits balancing of stakeholders and the role of governmental department during development and forecasting the prospect of development. The lecture provided updated information for teaching and research work in the Department of Tourism Management.
